I absolutely love our new floors. Dorrance was great to work with. They solved a lot of issues we had tying in our old floor with our new floor and transitions and around closets and it all looks seamless now. Love that they create a large sample of 4 stain colors on the actual floor to choose from. They laid the hardwood in the master bedroom and into the closets and they did an amazing job. The floors turned out amazing.

I worked with Dorrance on installing new hardwood on 2/3rds of my main level and blending the new floors into existing. From start to finish, this has been an excellent company and team to work with.Key points: (1) a small, local company that does all their work in-house (no sub-contractors), including demo; (2) gave a reasonable quote (in my opinion); (3) provided timeline and dates, gave timeframes for when we could use the area and not (we were living in house for most of this renovation), very easy to communicate with; (4) came back to finish shoe molding after painters came through (and painted trim); (5) overall went above and beyond to solve some tricky flooring problems that hadn't been repaired right in past.This team will be my go-to if/when we have any work to be done on our hardwoods in the future. I definitely recommend them.

We have hired Dorrance for two projects, one in our previous home and one in our current home. This is truly a family business that takes great pride in their work. The current job was replacing carpeting in half our main floor with hardwood and matching to the extent possible the existing hardwood. Our new floor looks amazing. Mr Dorrance was very up front that the new floor and old floor (which are painted, who does that?) would not match, but now I want to get the rest of the downstairs flooring to match the new flooring because the new floor looks so spectacular. The work crews were on time, very friendly, and they obviously knew what to do and how best to do it. If you want a floor job that is done right and beautiful, go with Dorrance.

It was wonderful to work with a family-owned and operated business. We had the hardwood floors refinished in 4 rooms and we love the results. Every aspect of this project went smoothly. Freddie was knowledgeable, informative and friendly. I learned that the products they use are not harmful to inhale and have less harmful compounds. If you are looking for hardwood flooring services, Freddie is your guy! We hired Dorrance Hardwood to refinish our 60+ year old hardwood floors that have taken a beating over the years. Freddie was great - responsive, knowledgeable, & respectful from start to finish! His team did a wonderful job refinishing our entire home in under a week and cleaning up without a trace of dust left behind. After getting several estimates we went with Dorrance Hardwood Floors. Freddie was very personable, professional & really knowledgeable about hardwood flooring. I had so many questions that he answered and our project was off and running. We had our main floor done with custom red oak, stained natural. Dorrance installed new hardwoods where carpet used to be, and then refinished and stained existing hard wood floors though out my whole house. We can't say enough great things about Dorrance Flooring and our experience with Freddie and his team. I can't imagine there's anyone who has more expertise and passion for hardwood floors than Freddie! He took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for with our new floors (sanding and custom staining some existing hardwood in some parts of the house & installing new and custom staining in other parts of the house) & exceeding our expectations. Freddie helped us pick the perfect custom stain color and allowed us to see several on our floors before choosing. Freddie had amazing communication throughout the process & he and his team stuck exactly to the planned schedule for our project, kept us updated throughout and even personally met us to do a walk-through of the whole house when finished (and educated us on how to take care of our new floors). We recently had our hardwood floors extended and refinished by The Dorrance Company, a local business here in Severna Park. We had no previous experience with this company, but the reviews were quite good, so we contacted them for an estimate. One of the owners, Freddie, spent over an hour with us reviewing the work, options, materials, pros and cons of different coatings, etc. We found him to be very knowledgeable, patient and conversant. Their bid was quite reasonable, so we contracted with them. The team was punctual, highly skilled, polite and friendly. They cut no corners and the workmanship was flawless. The end result is simply beautiful. The transition from the original hardwood to the new is seamless. We could not be more pleased…actually, ecstatic. Also, there was absolutely no dust. Cabinets, drapes, light fixtures, etc. were covered, but the real key is the machinery they use that captures everything and produces an even surface. Professional quality work in every way!! Dorrance replaced a large amount of flooring on my first floor. They removed a lot of tile and installed hardwood which they blended into some existing hardwood. You can not find any indication that the flooring was laid at two different times. Also installed stairs going upstairs and they are beautiful. These workers were very respectful, were very careful about protecting my property and cleaned up after they were done. So refreshing to work with people who show up, do high quality work at a fair price! HIGHLY recommend.

We have utilized Dorrance Hardwood Floors twice - once for our stairway and then for an entire floor in our home. Freddie Dorrance is one of those contractors you will not easily forget. Their staff was always on time and ready to work. Their 1st concern is the comfort of their customers, particularly in holding down dust and dirt. Our job needed to have new floor boards woven into the old boards - you cannot tell this work was done, and the floors looked brand new - beautiful job! Freddie and his company did an excellent job from the initial consult to the follow through after the job was complete. Freddie showed up when he said he would and his crew worked steadily every day.I had most of my existing hardwood floors removed and the new floor integrated with the remaining old floor. The floors blended perfectly and look like it was all installed at the same time.The crew worked diligently and were very polite. They cleaned up every day and acted professionally. Freddy Dorrance runs a professional, skilled, family business. He personally wrote the quote and steered us to the best wood flooring provider. His partner Ed (a family member) directly oversaw the installation. The installation included rooms with heavy furniture and a grand piano! The work they did is true custom artistry and we are beyond thrilled with how well it turned out! We asked Dorrance Hardwood Floors to do the impossible - restore the red oak floors throughout the second floor or our house, including the stairway. These floors were in very bad condition when we moved in 30 years ago and we never did anything about it. Much of the wood was covered with carpet because it looked so bad. Now that the kids are gone, we emptied everything from the five bedrooms and all the closets. We set up our bedroom in the dining room, which was quite a treat. We had another crew come in and repair and paint everything, then Freddie and his crew came and worked for four days sanding and refinishing. The result is astounding. The second floor of our home looks like new, even in the closets. Some old hardwood was replaced and the workmanship is great. I cannot even see the new wood from the old. Dorrance Hardwood Floors gets my strongest recommendation.
